About Roofing Roster
What Roofing Roster is
Roofing Roster is an independent publisher of location-based roofing contractor guides. Each guide is a directory for one area, built for homeowners and property managers trying to figure out who to call for a roof repair, replacement, or inspection.
We are not a trade association and we do not do the roofing work ourselves. What we do is pull together public business information and recent Google review activity for every roofing company we can verify operates in an area, then organize it into something you can actually compare at a glance.
We do not republish review text. Instead, we read the pattern of recent reviews for each business and summarize what that sentiment looks like, then link out to the source on Google so you can read the original reviews yourself before deciding anything.
How rankings get built
Every ranking on every guide comes from one published rubric applied consistently to the same data points: review sentiment, star rating, review volume, review recency, and business information completeness. Nobody pays to move up the list. The scoring is mechanical, applied the same way to every contractor in an area, and fully laid out on our How We Score page.
Because rankings are earned from data, a listed business cannot edit its own score, its sentiment summary, or its position relative to competitors. What a business can do is flag factual errors in its own listing, things like a wrong phone number, an outdated address, or a service area that has changed, and we will correct those details after a quick check.
Where sponsorship fits in
Some pages on our guides carry a section clearly labeled "Sponsored." That placement is always shown separately from the earned rankings, never blended into them, and never allowed to bump a business up or down the rubric-based order. If you see a sponsored listing, it is disclosed as exactly that, nothing hidden.
The inquiry side of things
Our guides are independent directories and comparison resources, but they also do more than list names. We generate inquiries for local roofing providers: if you ask to be matched with someone, we pass your request along to providers relevant to your request, and we may earn a referral fee for that introduction. That arrangement never touches scores or earned rankings, and each guide's quote page spells out the details before you submit anything.
Who's behind it
Roofing Roster is an independent publisher that has been building directories from public business data and published review information since 2026. We do not sell placement; every listing earns its spot through actual performance, refreshed on a monthly cycle so the rankings stay current instead of stale. The goal is a shortlist of the contractors people in a given area genuinely rely on, paired with a way for those contractors to hear from customers actively looking for them.
Editorial oversight for Roofing Roster and for every individual guide sits with Eric Thomas, Managing Editor, who maintains the rubric and reviews how it is applied. Data refreshes monthly, and each listing carries a last-verified stamp so you can see it is being actively maintained rather than left to go out of date.
Questions, corrections, or sponsorship inquiries can go to hello@roofingroster.com or through our contact page.
About the editor

Eric Thomas
Managing Editor, Roofing Roster
Eric spent more than 20 years as an executive in the home services and contracting industry, serving as both CEO and CMO at businesses in residential solar, foundation repair, roofing, radon mitigation, and more. He has sat on the contractor's side of the table, and he knows what separates a company that shows up and does the work from one that does not.
He now puts that experience toward helping buyers make informed decisions, and toward making sure the best contractors and service providers get found by the people searching for them.
FAQ
Can a roofing contractor pay to rank higher on a Roofing Roster guide?
No. Rankings come from a published rubric applied to public business data and review patterns. Sponsored placements are labeled clearly and kept separate from the earned rankings.
Can a listed business change its own sentiment summary or score?
No. A business can correct factual details like address, phone number, or service area, but it cannot edit its sentiment summary, score, or ranking position.
Do you show the actual Google review text?
No. We synthesize recent review activity into a sentiment summary and link out to Google so you can read the original reviews at the source.
What happens if I ask to be matched with a roofing contractor?
We pass your inquiry to providers relevant to your request and may earn a referral fee for that introduction. This never affects any business's score or ranking, and details are disclosed on the quote page of each guide.
How often is the data updated?
Each guide refreshes monthly, and each listing shows a last-verified date so you can see when it was last checked.
Which areas do you cover?
Our guides cover states, cities, and regions, and some cover specific roofing products and services. The current list is on our guides page, and new guides are added regularly.
